Kashmiri Pulao

Cuisine of  Kashmir

Ingredients:
  1. Basmati rice                1 cup(wash and clean and soak 1 hour in clean water)
  2. Water                         11/2 cup and 1/2 cup milk
  3. Butter                         2 table spoons
  4. Cumin powder            1 tea spoon
  5. Pepper powder           1 tea spoon
  6. Cloves                        2
  7. Cinnamon                  small piece
  8. Cardamom pods         2
  9. Ginger                        1 tea spoon (grated)
  10. Fruits                         1 bowl(pineapple,apple,banana,pamegrenate)
  11. Dry fruits                    each two(cashew,almond,raisins)
  12. Salt                             for taste
Method:
  1. Heat butter in Pressure cooker in a medium flame.Add bay leaf,cloves,cinnamom, cardamon pods fry for few min.Then add ginger, cumin powder,pepper powder  and dry fruits mix well and add washed rice and salt and mix well.
  2. Then add water,milk close the lid with valve and cook for 4 to 5 min.
  3. After cooker become cool remove lid.
  4. Take out in a serving plate and garnish with fruits.
  5. Serve with Dum Aloo.

  13. Hi Marimi,
    Dum Aloo is a vegetable side dish eat with Indian breads or Indian rice items.Sorry i have not mentioned about this recipe.Dum Aloo is a Kahmiri vegetable cuisine made with small size Potatoes with some spices.I am going to post this recipe soon in my blog.
