Dal Fry is a comfort and rich Tur dal (split pigeon peas lentil) recipe from northern part of India. It is a simple,tasty and delicious side dish, goes well with piping hot steamed rice or Indian flat breads.

dal - 1
2.Water - 2 ½ cups
3.Salt - To taste
4.Turmeric - 1
1.Tomatoes - 3 (finely chopped)
butter or ghee - 3 tablespoons

Tur dal with fresh water.
dal with 2-1/2 cups water into a pressure cooker and cook on medium high heat.

5.Then add mashed dal and sugar cook in a high flame for 1 or 2 minutes
till become soft and smooth consistency.Now slow the flame.
